Arghhh!

Not sure what has happened but my blogger dashboard pages have turned German on me.
So when I try to edit things it's all in German.
Ok so im learning that "Post veroffentlichen" means post, and "Html bearbeiten" means edit html, but I would like to find how I can reset and have an english dashboard once again.
Anyone got an idea?

Experimint 1

Woo hoo. It works.
If your wondering, I was told that snapping these Life savers in a darkened room causes them too spark.
Now I was a little sceptical, thought the whole thing was like one of those urban myths.
Well I can say 100% that it is in fact true, if you snap these sweets in the dark you get a static flash of light.
I tried a few times to capture the static on the camera, but it's just too quick and too little light.
Thanks K.
I have to say eatting thse life savers is like chewwing on Mothballs, maybe thats why you get the static, the naphthalene explodes:) Naphthalene is poisonous so don't go eatting moth balls for the same effect as getting someone to buy you a packet of lifesaver Wint o greens though.
If you want to understand the real science that is involved in this experiment have a look Here

Ps. it's not really napthalyne in the sweets it is aparently Methyl salicylate.

PPS just in case your unsure eatting mothballs is not a good idea.:-

Moth balls are made from naphthalene, a hydrocarbon derived from coal tar that easily sublimates, or exudes gas acting as a fumigant. However these gases must build to high concentrations to be effective.

Moth balls made with naphthalene are toxic and high levels of exposure can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, blood in the urine and jaundice, a yellow appearance to the skin. Naphthalene can also kill red blood cells. Though your body can replace them, in the interim the condition is referred to as hemolytic anemia. Hospitals have reported a high incidence of hemolytic anemia in newborns and small children who were dressed in clothing or wrapped in blankets that had been stored in naphthalene moth balls. In pregnant women, naphthalene can transfer from the mother's bloodstream into the bloodstream of her unborn baby. The toxin has also been detected in breast milk, though not in quantities that are thought to be of concern. Naphthalene has also been linked to nasal cancer.

Moth balls look like gumballs or candy and therefore can be a danger to both children and pets, in which they can be fatal if swallowed. If using naphthalene moth balls, it's safest to store clothing in an air tight container along with the moth balls. All clothing should be fully aired out or washed

You Are 40% Weird

Normal enough to know that you're weird...
But too damn weird to do anything about it!

Foggy start to the day today, I was hoping to get out and capture foggy images, by the time I'd faffed about the fog had mostly burned off. Posted by Picasa

Oryx and Crake

Finnished reading this today, and it's left me feeling shaken, it's a very very good read.
I finnished reading this on one of the many green spaces in town, in the warm breeze and people punting by on their way to Granchester or where ever.
As I said it left me feeling shaken, I needed some cat food so cycled to the supermarket near to my home.
I couldnt help but imagine the people around me, melting from the inside out, blood pouring from their eyes.
The chaos people fighting for food, I just think about the mayhem that happens at Christmas and the last few days before the shops close make it even more real.
Get to the news paper stand and see a full cover spread on Bird Flu.
The measures our govenment intend to impliment should the virus mutate and be human/humun transmited.
Schools closed, no meetings, no gatherings. Riot police on the streets to help keep order should panic start.
I think I read this book at the wrong time.
Read it has a 50% mortality rate, then being me looked up the Great Influenza Pandemic of 1918. which killed more people worldwide than the whole first world war.
And interveiws with people from the time who distrusted the govenment .
Acounts of how people were bleeding from their eyes and as in the book, melting from the inside out.
Any way what I liked about this book is it keeps you reading and reading, you get hints and bits of information about what has happened to Jimmy aka Snowman, Crake his best mate and Oryx the woman he loves.
It keeps you reading and questioning what happened?
It makes you stop and think about many things from human nature, relationships and nature it's self.
But mostly about humankind and our short sighted grab everything science will save us attitude.
Oryx and Crake are both names of extinct animals.
